The selection of the twenty nurses participating in the Nightingale Challenge was carried out in partnership with the Human Resources Board, Nursing Board, Operations Board, and reference professionals working in Nursing Leadership positions. During the process of screening the professionals, the first step consisted in listing all the nurses, in assistance activities, at age 35 or younger, resulting in the Organizational Development Plan (PDO) (Annex A) of the Institution between 01 – 04, for senior level professionals; or with Competence Assessment (Annex B) with Above Expected (AC) or Exceptional (EX) results for professionals with full level; totalizing 165 professionals. The leadership of these 165 professionals who met the established criteria were communicated and asked to recommend their respective professionals, who had outstanding characteristics and profile for the development process. After this stage, we obtained a number of 61 professionals. The third and last stage consisted of a collegiate with professionals from the Board of Human Resources, Nursing and Operations, to select the 20 finalist nurses, keeping the names of the others in database for the setting of future classes. The Training and Development Program of the twenty nurses chosen for the Nightingale Challenge is being built in partnership with the institution’s Board of Directors, two nurses from the selected group of nurses, the Board of Teachers and Teachers of the Nursing Undergraduate course of the Israeli College Health Sciences Albert Einstein, professionals from the Human Resources Department, Training and Development Team, and the Teaching Board. Young Nurse LeaderĀ“s Skills: Care; Personal and interpersonal effectiveness and Systemic reasoning To achieve these competencies, the structure of the training course is expected to take place in 11 months, with a 160-hour training program, at the end certifying the professional regarding the training.
