20 nurses and midwives have been enrolled in the leadership development programme.
The young nurses’ leadership program is designed to provide young nurses with the knowledge, competencies, skills and practical application necessary to function effectively in formal and informal leadership positions. It will provide young nurses with the leadership competencies and specific strategies for becoming a more effective leader in practice to improve quality of nursing care and patient safety as well as to enhance health policy at the organizational and ultimately national levels. It will also help young nurses in exploring their personal skills, talent, interests, career readiness and abilities including communication and teamwork as well as articulating their self-development plans.
