Munashe Nyika

Munashe Nyika is a young nurse, human rights activist and global health advocate, born in the Mashonaland province of Harare, Zimbabwe. He has spearheaded the coordination of local community outreaches in rural and urban communities across Zimbabwe.

Through college, with support from faculty he led a coalition of health students in a community outreach campaign entitled Changing Health Lifestyles, serving as President of the Nursing Students Association, the college Rotaract club and on the committee of the Christian Medical Fellowship Zimbabwe.

Munashe gained skills in global health advocacy, constructive dialogue and community building inĀ a course in Social Medicine held in Uganda by SocMed Global and the University of Minnesota. Later that year, Munashe spearheaded the formation of the Federation of African Nursing Students Organisation – a body that seeks to represent the voice and vote students and novice nurses in Africa. He subsequently was appointed as the firstĀ presiding Chairman of the group.
