National Association of Indian Nurses of America

20 nurses from 19 chapters of the National Association of Indian Nurses are invited to join the Nightingale challenge. A leadership conference is offered on April 18th at Baltimore Maryland. The Nurses will be then offered webinars on topics related to leadership. As a group they will be asked to complete a leadership project. The 20 nurses will then meet at the NAINA National conference on October 2nd & 3rd at Baltimore to share their leadership growth experience.

NAINA – Nursing Now

The National Association of Indian Nurses of America (NAINA) launched their Nursing Now group in June 2019 at the Clinical Excellence Conference in California. During the conference which focussed on improving access to health for everyone, everywhere, the NAINA nurses were given the opportunity to  share examples of best clinical practice . Susan Michaels-Strasser, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN, Senior Implementation Director & Associate Director for Nursing Programs at Columbia University gave a presentation about the Nursing Now campaign and its aim to empower nurses and tackle healthcare challenges. NAINA Nursing Now campaign lead, Letha Joseph, DNP, AGPCNP-BC discussed NAINA programmes that align with the Nursing Now campaign. ‘She talked about the ways in which Nursing Now NAINA will create opportunities for nurses to improve their competencies, maximize their professional contribution, and enhance their influence in the policymaking world.  NAINA’s campaign focus areas are:

  •  Enhancing clinical practice through ongoing education
  •  Empowering nurses to be leaders at the bedside and beyond
  •  Sharing examples of best nursing practice while recognising nurses for their contributions to healthcare and the professional nursing community. 

NAINA’s 4th leadership conference will be held  on 18th April 2020 in Baltimore, Maryland. This conference will provide a full day of educational activity to empower nurses to be leaders both at the bedside and in the boardroom.
