The PHS Nightingale Challenge is an invitation for nurse officers to self-reflect and partner to enhance knowledge, skills, and confidence as nurse leaders. During the six-month PHS Nightingale Challenge, junior and senior officers will be paired based on similar goals and areas of interest. Based on the junior officer’s goals, senior officers serve as Nurse Navigators to guide the discovery process through established resources, new experiences, and expansion of professional networks. The junior officer determines the destination, based on self-identified strengths, interests, and an individual development plan. The senior officer coaches and provides routes from which the junior officer can choose.

30 nurses and midwives have been enrolled on this leadership development programme.
