We have young nurses with minimal training and a management based on old models. We have designed a strategic plan for positioning nurses in their clinical and support services 1. Establish sub-direction of nursing what we would be on par in making decisions with doctors in our area 2. Train nurses in the technical areas to achieve their empowerment in their services 3. Train leaders through courses, workshops, conferences and research projects in the area 4. Activity monitoring and accompaniment by the head nurses during the process 5. Establish a continuous training program to make it sustainable over time.

15 nurses and midwives have been enrolled on this Nightingale Challenge programme.
