50 nurses and midwives have been enrolled in the leadership development programme. The goal of this mentorship programme is to assist in developing Young Nurses and Midwives aged 35 years and younger in becoming leaders, innovators, and advocates within the multi-disciplinary team through a strong mentoring programme. Mentors and their mentees will be carefully matched by the Nightingale Challenge Leadership Development Initiative National Committee. This mentorship programme will assist mentees to improve/develop their leadership skills professionally by focusing on Core Competencies of Leadership adapted from the Institute for Leadership Coaching. The mentor and mentee will need to agree on specific objectives to be achieved at the end of agreed period. In the course of implementation the mentee will be expected to demonstrate the skill of readership as they work on their projects.
