Nursing Now Pakistan was launched on 8 January 2018 at a ceremony hosted by the President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi, during the first Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery summit. The President was joined by Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organisation, and Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Aamir Mehmood Kiani.

In July 2018, Pakistan’s Government announced the intention to establish a National Nursing Forum which will link to the Nursing Now global campaign. The Forum will be housed in the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination.

The creation of the Forum was supported by Dr Assad Hafeez, Pakistan’s Federal Director-General of Health and Nursing Now Global Campaign Board Member. For more information on Nursing Now Pakistan, contact Dr. Sabeen Afzal: drsabeenafzal@gmail.com
